Kayi is one of the first factories in China to research and develop composite insulator and also the first manufacturer which was approved by China State Grid for supplying composite insulators from 10-1100kV.

Brief History:
With the support of National Energy Sources Board and Jiangsu Electricity Bureau, and in-cooperation with Wuhan Institute of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering, this company was established in 1985 as Wuhan Shuili Electric Power Rugao Factory to develop and produce composite insulators.
By 1989 Composite insulators of 35kV~110Kv Ratings were put in operation in 11 cities in Jiangsu Province and these insulators won the honor of Nantong Science and Technology Advancement Prize and Second Prize of New technology and New product Exhibition.
In 1990 and 1991 Composite insulators of 35kV~220kV Rating passed all the type tests at China National Centre for Quality Supervision and Test of Insulators and Surge Arresters,and passed the appraisal of State Energy Source Board.
In 1998 the company was renamed as Rugao Electric Equipment Factory and establised at Huanxi bridge,Ecomonic development zone,Rugao City for manufacturing of High-voltage composite insulators,Disconnectors and other electric equipment.
In 1999 We were awarded ISO 9000 certificate by Moody International Group.and we were listed on the recommended catalogue for two Power Grids and China State Economic and Trade Commission.Our 10kV~220kV Composite insulator passed the appraisal of State Power Ministry and Mechanical Ministry.
In 2000, amount of 8,000,000 RMB was invested to update manufacture facilities and import international advanced equipment. Accordingly annual production capability reached 300,000 pieces.
In year 2001,our 330kV composite insulators passed all the type tests and started to operate at Yinnan Power Supply Bureau.
In year 2002,our 330kV and 500kV composite insulators passed the appraisal of State Power Ministry and Mechanical Ministry and started to operate on the 500kV line of Jiangsu.
In year 2002,we obtained ISO9001:2000 certificate of American Quality Assurance Council.
In year 2002,our company was renamed and establised as Jiangsu Suyuan Tongming Electric Equipment Co.,Ltd. and our company was listed among the 13 leading enterprises.
In year 2003,through NanJing Ningwei Economic & Trading Co.,Ltd.,we built a long-term business relationship with Cullinan Industrial Porcelain Company of South Africa and exported 330kV,220 kV,22 kV and 33kV composite insulators to South Africa.
In year 2004,our 750kV composite insulators passed all the type tests and in 2005,we obtained ISO9001:2000 certificate of CQM.
In year 2005, through Taizhou Huadong Insulation Material Co., Ltd., we exported 272kV composite insulators to Russia.
In year 2006 our 110kV composite insulators operating for 18 years on Hailiu Line, Lianyungang, was dismantled and sent to China National Centre For Quality Supervision And Test Of Insulators And Surge Arresters, and passed all the tests.
In year 2006 we purchased two 500T full automatic injection machines
In year 2006 our 1000kV composite insulators passed all the type tests at Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute.
In year 2006 our 33kV and 22kV composite insulators which totaled 100,000 pieces were exported to Morocco as the first batch.
In year 2007 our 500kV products passed the 30-million-cycle vibration test at Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute successfully, and on June 16th we completed the appraisal of 330kV and ±500 kV products with a variety of mechanical loads.
In June 2007, we added 40,000 sq.m land to be used for new factory building and in August we invested 6 000 000 RMB for one LBZ-2000T full automatical injection machine for AC/DC 500kV once-forming and accessory molds.
In September 2007 we added two 500T full automatical injection machines.
In September 2007 the name change application of our company was approved by Jiangsu Provincial bureau for renaming our company as Jiangsu Xiangyuan Electric Equipment Co.,Ltd.Our company was subsequently renamed as Jiangsu Xiangyuan Electric Equipment Co.,Ltd. In November 2007 by Rugao Administrative Bureau for Industry and Commerce Nantong City
In January 2008 our ±500kV/160kN,210kN,300kN composite insulators trial-operated at Hubei EHV transmission and transformation Corp.
On April 18th 2008 we acquired PCCC product certificate of Power(Beijing) Product Certification Centre Co.,Ltd.
In June 2008,LBZ-2000T full automatical injection machine for AC/DC 500kV once-forming had already finished the trial producing and was put into mass production.
In August 2008,our ±800kV EHV composite insulators passed all the type tests of Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute and in December passed the appraisal. Additionally we complemented the appraisals of ±500kV and 750kV composite insulators with every variety of machenical load
On April 17th,2009, we won the bid among State Grid’s competitive negotiation and purchase of Xiangjiaba-Shanghai ±800kV EHV dirrect current transmission demonstration project ( Package No.3).
On June 14th,2009, Jiangsu Xiangyuan Electric Equipment Co.,Ltd. perform a ceremony for starting the extension project of EHV composite in sulators in the development zone. State Grid Corporation of China, State Administration of Taxation, East China Grid Company, Jiangsu Electric Power Company, Neimenggu Electric Power Company and so forth,attended our ceremony and visited production line.Thereafter our company, which had produced composite insulators for 20 years,entered into the express way of development.
In September 2009 our new factory at Group 3,Zhennan Village,Chaiwan Town,Rugao City,Jiangsu Province,became fully operational and in November our ±660kV EHV composite insulators passed all the type test at Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute.

In January 2010 our suspension composite insulators for electric railway OCS passed all the type test at Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre for railway products, and then passed the Technological Achievement Appraisal.
In July 2010 our ±1000kV EHV composite insulators passed the appraisal and completed all the other appraisals of State Grid China.
